Bulb issues

Bought this fan from HD Few years ago, no matter what bulb i put in it they flicker, and i have a controller for the light.

When it's in Max they almost give a mild burning smell!

Too low and flickering gets worse.

What type of bulb is suited for these?

I've tried CFL, LED....

thx

My first guess would be an issue with the controller. Some of those older ones are not cfl/led friendly. It's possible something could be going bad with the light kit but not likely. However, if so, they are easy to replace.

Re: Bulb issues

Does it flicker with an incandesant lamp in it ?
Maybe it is not compatible with with LED or CFL.
Otherwise I would say either the watt limiter is faulty
Or the control circuitry is faulty
either one should be available as a spare part.

True, some controllers are not designed for LED. Also, not all LED bulbs are dimmable.

And many dimmable LEDs work better with some brands/models of dimmers than they do with others.

It's such as mess that Lutron has a web page to match up specific LEDs that are known to work with their dimmers.

Re: Bulb issues

Also, some dimmable controllers do not work with LED bulbs, even if the bulbs claim to be dimmable.
