Anyone heard of shower light that doesn't require insulated box?

Hi,
I'm finishing a basement apartment and want to put a light in a pre-fab shower stall in the bathroom.
I was at a box store and it was recommended that since the head room was limited as well as there would probably be insulation, that I use a light that although it is specifically meant for showers... it doesn't require the large insulated box to house the pot light.. it's more of a surface application.
Although the guy suggested it, they don't carry it and he doesn't know what it is called..
By chance does anyone know what this is called and where to find it?
Thanks!

How much clearance do you have in the joist space right above the shower?

If there is no insulation just use a typical 4" or 6" can.
Halo for one makes shower trims for both size cans.
