Any rules on what direction wires enter and exit a light switch box?

Read something about hot coming in on the bottom. Is it OK to use top knock outs for all wires if convenient? Thanks.

No restrictions. Some do like to bring the power feed into the KO nearest the stud, but no requirement to do so.

top or bottom depends on where the feed is coming from but I also like to run the hot into the KO next to the stud..this way it helps troubleshoot if something goes wrong
