Another LED lighting question

I will be replacing the flushmount lights in the entry way and bedroom hallway. All of the LED cannisters I've seen are battery operated. Is it possible to replace the ceiling lights operated by switches with the LED lights and still be able to connect to the wall switches?

You cannot find LED canister lights except those powered by battery!? What about installing a standard canister light and installing LED bulbs? This works well at my house.

While I am sure you could wire up the battery devices to turn on and off via standard switch, I suggest avoiding this option, given the recent proliferation of 120v LED bulbs.

Sorry- I should've said I also have seen them wired to plug into an outlet, but can that be wired to work with a switch without showing the wire? It also seems the cord is too short from the ceiling.

In general, there is very little that cannot be done, depending on how much work you want to put into it.

Unfortunately, I am having trouble understanding exactly what it is you are wanting to do. I think you are going to have to be a bit more specific about the configuration of the devicse in which you are interested, where you want them mounted, and the proximity to outlets and switches.
