I don't know if the tub itself is painted - it's a tan-ish color, so I thought maybe it was painted at the factory.

The subpanel is not yet installed. It's sitting on my garage floor with no wires attached

I am looking for continuity between the tub (didn't know that term) and the new ground bar I installed. I'll test for continuity tonight with the new bar and the main breaker hold-down screws. Thanks!

I have never seen a panel box that was not painted, usually grey.

Temporarily reinstall the neutral bonding screw and check for continuity between new grounding bar and the neutral buss.
