I was merely pointing out the fact that having a higher amp rated outlet on the circuit does not pose a safety hazard and will not start a fire. No feelings here, just fact. I wouldn't at all say somebody should install a circuit in their home that is not to code, however; The outlets are already installed, and this is not something that is in need of urgent repair. It won't hurt anything.

Continue with mud slinging...

No mud here. The Code is inconsistent on this matter.

For example: You can install a 50 Amp receptacle on a 40 amp circuit. Plug in your range and you are compliant.

As others have stated, many items in the Code are there due to the efforts of manufacturers' and industry lobbyists, and not necessarily due to absolute safety concerns.
