12 and 14 on same yoke


Yo, can I run a 12-2 and 14-2 to a tandem switch that will be switching two different items on the same yoke ? anyone see any nec problems with this?

I believe under the 2014 NEC the switch has to be listed as a multi-circuit.

Almost all duplex receptacles and duplex (tandem) switches and combination switch/receptacle units have tabs you can bend and break off allowing use on two different circuits. For receptacles you need to break off the tabs on both the hot (gold) and neutral (silver) sides for multi-circuit usage, since the neutrals of different circuits may not be interconnected up in the house.

Stick to your lawn watering schedule until it really pours. Otherwise the storm might miss and the part that gets watered last (3 days away?) will dry up.
