Re-routing supply vents for built in furniture

Hello,

I am planning on building a built in storage bench in my front entrance. Where it will be built it will be covering two supply vents on the floor under each of the front windows. My question is:

Should i re-route the vents to the top of the bench where it will be under the window pointing up? Or place it on the front of the bench where it will be blowing horizontally away from the window?

I want the most efficient design, i live where it's mostly cold and the furnace is utilized a majority of the year, and the AC to a lesser extent of the year, so the design would need to be best for heat.

Attached is a diagram of the front with the vent holes in the floor are circled in red.

Thanks in advance for any input on this matter!

Pointing up to coat the exterior wall, as they were originally, is probably best.
