Need help figuring out how to run a new heat duct to other side of wall

Our split level house, built in the 1980s, has uneven central heating and cooling in the lower level mainly because we need more ducts and registers. The previous owner didn't plan them out well before finishing the basement. In the photo below is a large bedroom that has a large heat register in the ceiling coming out of the bottom of a main rectangular trunk duct. On the other side of the blue wall on the left side of this photo is a large 20X15' family room that has no heat/AC register in it, and I'd like to add one.

To complicate things, there is a metal beam running along the top 11" of the wall on the left that goes parallel with that rectangular trunk duct (both are covered by the soffit, with probably a 6" gap in between). So I'd have to run the new duct down from the rectangular trunk duct and then across through the wall. What's the best way to do that so it looks good? Was hoping not to cover it up by building a new closet in that corner, but is that the only option for hiding the duct work?

Hmmm, judging from no responses, maybe I should give up on this idea. What about putting some kind of vent in the wall so more air from the room in the photo goes to the other room, on the other side of the wall? Is there any good way to do that?

That duct may not be big enough to support the additional load of the other room. You could wind up starving both rooms for air.
No, just cutting vents in the wall isn’t going to work. Air will not naturally flow and equalize temperature.

I would come down and turn straight to the wall and build a small box around it.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking, but thought there might be something that I wasn't thinking of that would look better. But maybe not.

The furnace is about 20 feet away in a straight line down that rectangular trunk vent.
