Moving Kitchen Vent Duct

Hello All,
I'm new to this forum so any help would be appreciated. I recently did a kitchen remodel, and have an OTR microwave which was vented to the outside. The cabinets have moved about 8" to the right and about 2" up (see attached photo). I want to connect to the existing duct so as not to drill another hole in the outside double brick wall, but it needs to move locations slightly before I re-install the microwave. Any ideas on how to connect and what products I would need?
Thanks

Re: Moving Kitchen Vent Duct

Make up a "periscope" type of ducting piece. Sort of like this...

https://www.amazon.ca/Builders-01014...32202642&psc=1

but with rectangular 3 /14" x 10" fittings and instead of just being a vertical offset periscope yours's will also have a lateral offset. Hopefully there is no stud to the right of existing hole in the wall.

Yes, this isn't best for flow but since your run is so short it is better and make this piece as deep as you can. What is the CFM of the fan?

Another option would be an offset duct with two 22.5* elbows to connect the oven opening duct to the existing duct. It involves planning and cutting.
Remember: Measure twice, cut once.

That is sort of what I was thinking, but I opened up more and there is a metal stud to the right, and yes, it is slightly in the way of the damper on the back of the microwave. I have about 3.5" space from drywall to to brick, and was thinking about having a box made similar to the dryer vent periscope (or make it myself), but with the rectangular openings. The stud to the left has already been cut where the old vent was located. I'm considering cutting the stud to the right, as I don't see any other options.

dj3, I'm not sure what you mean by "offset duct with two 22.5* elbows". Any links to a photo?
Thanks

Hi, I bet it would be less work in the long run to just remove the brick, less restrictions and the end result would be better.
