Dual Zone Question

We have one AC compressor unit that cools a Kitchen and a playroom (2 zones). For some reason, the AC in the kitchen does not kick in from 11 am to 5 pm. The Kitchen gets really hot. We have had a pro look at it. He changed the thermostats, cleaned the outside filters, fixed some kinks and changed the evaporator coil.

The issue still exists. We have turned off the thermostat in the playroom to see if it was drawing too much energy, but that did not seem to work.

Then, once evening hits, the Air Handler kicks in and cool air comes to the kitchen.

Any thoughts would be welcome.

Re: Dual Zone Question

This is central AC with an air handler in the attic and it controls two zones.

Re: Dual Zone Question

Unfortunately we will need much more information to even begin to diagnose the problem.
What is the make and model of the unit?
What zoning panel is being used?
What thermostat is being used?
Is the zone damper opening during the day? Is it being powered?

Re: Dual Zone Question

Is the thermostat a set back thermostat, and going into set back during the day? That would be factory default.

Does the thermostat display say it is cooling.
