Re: Does not blow warm or hot air at all

Was that at the air handler or outdoor unit?
If at the air handler check outside for line and low voltage.

checked both and all get 24v, but still does not run the outside unit while still blowing strong air.

Re: Does not blow warm or hot air at all

Is there line voltage to the outdoor unit?
Is there power to the contactor coil?
Is the contactor pulled in?

Re: Does not blow warm or hot air at all

So the contactor is pulled out in but nothing in the outdoor unit is operating?
Check load voltage. If ok test the capacitor. If that’s ok ohm out the compressor.
None of this is causing your lack of auxiliary heat, that’s going to be a separate problem.

Re: Does not blow warm or hot air at all

One more question!

I remember I didnt change one of the capacitor because I purchased the dual capacitor with the same spec for the cylinder one in the picture.

Can I just use one dual capacitor insteda two single capacitor I currently have?

Am I right connecting two brown wires on COM and Fan & yellow to Herm and Red to Com?

Thank you again!

Re: Does not blow warm or hot air at all

You can use either a duel or single.
Test them with your meter to see if they are good or not.
The capacitor rating has to match the requirements of the motor it’s serving.

Re: Does not blow warm or hot air at all

See if the output of the contactor is 240v -> you can have a contactor that pulls in but has cooked contacts. it's unlikely though.

Re: Does not blow warm or hot air at all

Dear roughneck!

I have a brand new dual capacitor that has same as the rusty one I currently have on unit.

I am not sure if the idea I am going to wire on the new one is correct.

currently two brown wires go into on the small single capacitor and one yellow and one red line go into on the big rusty capacitor on the right side.

Am I do ing right two brown wires go on COM and Fan, Yellow to Herm, and Red to Com if I use a brand new dual capacitor instead two single capacitor ?

Re: Does not blow warm or hot air at all

Test the electrical system first. And the existing capacitor.
Don’t worry about changing parts till you figure out what’s going on.

Re: Does not blow warm or hot air at all

I checked all parts again and contactor does not pull in when heat is on.

I get 24v on C and Y C and R on the defrost board.
