Brick bungalow cooling

I have a 1950s brick bungalow with central air. The central air is also piped to finished attic. My question is this. Without making any improvements at first. What is the best and most efficient way to cool house. Attic windows open and downstairs door open to allow heavier cold air down and hotter air up and out at same time leaving a/c open to attic? Iím looking for convection efficiency options. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Re: Brick bungalow cooling

Are you planning to do this with the AC running?

Re: Brick bungalow cooling

Why are the attic windows open in a conditioned attic? Maybe i don't understand where these attic windows are located.

Being you have a stair well that's about as good as it gets for flowing warm air up and cooler air down. You can test this air flow, both direction and rate of flow, with a incense smoke stick.

Re: Brick bungalow cooling

Leaving the attic windows open is increasing your cooling load, as well as your electric bill.
