Advice for BTU for a mini-split

I tried using online calculators but I'm getting some very different results - can someone please advise on how many BTUs I should be getting for a mini-split AC/Heat for a single zone? I guess the real problem is that it'll be for an open-plan living/dining room with a sloping ceiling.
- ~25 x 30' = 750 ft.sq
- ceiling height at 8.5' each side, with center ridge at 18'
- climate - Western Connecticut
- a good amount of south-facing windows

Re: Advice for BTU for a mini-split

which online calculators have you tried?

the ones based on sq ft are useless.

https://www.loadcalc.net/

If the system will be the primary source of heat, sizing it will be a balancing act.

You may only need only 9 to 12k of cooling but more for heating.

Never jump out safeties - especially pressure switches - on a furnace for testing with fuel supply on; use a meter. Do not troubleshoot with live line voltage present unless there's no alternative.
