What tree is this? Alaskan Cedar, Deodar Cedar, Hemlock?

I'm pretty sure its a Cedar. Just not sure which. Looks fairly distinctive. I would like to use this tree prominently in my landscaping project.

Have you thought about knocking on their door, Introduce yourself, ask if they know, and if they don't, ask if you can bring an expert by to look?

I'd definitely do that Ed, but this group of trees belong to neighborhood association. They aren't sitting in anyone's yard. They are arranged at the entrance to the neighborhood.

Here's a few closer shots:

I took the sampling to the local SiteOne nursery and they indicated that it was Deodar Cedar. Sourced from Oregon in the US and Native to the Himalayas. One of their favorite trees but a long haul from Oregon to Bama, so $$$.

Those are not any Cedar needles that I have seen.

Take your sample to the local Agriculture Extension Office, and ask their tree person for an idea.

It's hard to tell sometimes from a picture, What kind of smell does it have, most spruce Stink, pine smell different from cedar, or hemlock.
