Re: Weed identified

If we talking about that with small round kind of leaves it looks like Henbit. Take one to your county extension for positive ID and they may recommend a broad leaf weed herbicide.

Re: Weed identified

Or do you mean the taller, skinny white-flowering weed?

Re: Weed identified

It is called grass. You see millions of acres of land with it. As for that flower, it is considered a nuance if not properly handled. You can just spray Round up on it. Most plants actually have a seed pod under the soil, that is a part of the root system. Even if you mow the top, it will still come up.

The other alternative is use a Post emergent. Stay away from the name brands, since they use more compounds that do nothing, other than bulk up the bag to get more money. I have used the Ace Hardware brand with better results, then the Scotts garbage.

Re: Weed identified

I believe I was mistaken in my first reply. Let's try Chickweed.

Re: Weed identified

If it's chickweed, that's a pretty impressive edible plant. http://preppingtosurvive.com/2012/03...t-4-chickweed/

Re: Weed identified

Clover is good for the yard. Chickweed is not.

Re: Weed identified

I used TruGreen when we first moved in to kill out the Wild Violet. I am using them again to help get rid of the Crab grass and fill in the huge dirt areas that I have been fighting with for the past 8 years.

Once fixed, then I will let the Clover take over again to naturally fertilize the yard.

Re: Weed identified

It actually looks like several things!

A photo of what exactly they want eradicated would help. The chickweed sticks out the most. And generally where they are, would help.

Re: Weed identified

once you mow it , its all green, seems the weeds grow better than the grass with little or no effort...
