Small lawn: plug aerator options?

I have a just over a 1/4 acre lot... just the right size for a walk behind mower.

My lawn is in need of rehab, so I'll likely be aerating it twice yearly for a while.

I'm curious if there are any reasonably priced core aerators available so that I don't have to keep renting them?

I think the manual core aerators would take hours to do my lawn...

Can we get a picture of the condition of the lawn.

Aerating twice a year might be overdoing it .

Have you thought about a de-thatching blade?

Good ones...no

The drag behind ones that clip to a riding mower hitch are okay at best and don't do a good job of actually coring the hole.
