Re: Root Be Gone

Yep, neighbor's tree on my side of fence. Sawsall took care of all except the big one - rented electric chainsaw from HD so as to not f up my real chainsaw

I've done battle with roots almost as big.

Some days, the cost of a new chain is worth it.

Re: Root Be Gone

The great thing is by cutting the dam thing down entirely is no more root battles and no more leaves to take care of every fall/winter

Funny thing is, this tree coming down is in neighbor's backyard behind me and last year I had a big old sweet gum cut down in my next door neighbor's yard.

All this in addition to a large maple that I cut down in my own front yard.

Trees are OVERRATED !!!!

@Texasdiyer , you got really lucky!

It’s rare for a vexing problem like yours to be so neatly and completely solved!

What kind of tree is (was) it? I ask because some trees are like zombies that manage to survive multiple concerted efforts to kill them. If it shows any signs of regrowth, treat with some ortho BrushB Gone, or straight glyphosate.

And good luck!
