Red Granite

I am about to purchase this product to use as a mulch and for its color.
I checked out a local distributor and his product is more round then my sample. I believe I would be much happier with the sample because it is mostly flat and it is 1 inch by 2 inches by 5/16ths. This I think will make it easier to walk on. The rounded type which is about 3/4 inch may feel like walking on marbles. Do you agree?

A main road borders my property and I will be doing weekly cleanups to pick up discards like cans and bottles from uncaring motorists. So the stone mulch must feel comfortable underfoot. Your thoughts?

I would think the rounded pieces would be more comfortable than sharp edges sticking up. What am I missing?

I considered using a stone mulch around our house but decided against it. We have a lot of trees and I thought it would be too difficult to keep the leaves cleaned out. Have you considered this?

Blondie is right; if you've any life maintenance issues, avoid the rocks or learn to live with leaves mixed with your stones.

I have a leaf vacumn which would be no trouble to use. I went back to the stone distributor and tested the stone underfoot and I was satisfied with it.
