As I am already well aware. I also found out that there is nothing illegal about moving and renting my place out to a bunch of college students. By the time they've completely slummed the place out I should have my money out of it. Then the village can try to figure out what to do with another abandoned house that contributes nothing to their tax base.

It looks like someone dropped a single-wide on the house from a helicopter.

I disagree with the basic assertion that it's "already built". There is no vinyl siding on the end. It's not done.

Hi Jim - if you are looking for bamboo try it includes a tool providing bamboo specific to your area and purpose - indoor, outdoor, ornamental, screening. Input your parameters and away it goes. That stuff is hardy, more a nuisance than plant, but it does grow fast and thick...neighbors (I'm zone 6) found out the hard way - got into their foundation. Good luck. Most townships are a joke. We now live in a townhouse community with strict bylaws and some neighbor built a 3 story extension off the back, totally illegal, no permits and the board didn't have the {INSERT YOUR FAVORITE TERM} to stop him or force him to take it down. Elect me to the far as I'm concerned, it's still an illegal addition.

Hey JimF, just to give you a little more insight into the code enforcement issue, I had an inspector come out to our house because we had complaints about my father in law's "storage unit", a 27 foot truck trailer. (yeah I know) Anyway I was told by the city last year that I could not build a steel storage building on my property because we are a few hundred square feet shy of a full acre. But the inspector told me that if I ignored that, and built the building anyway, the only legal ramification was that I would have to disclose the fact that it was not permitted, if and when I tried to sell the house. There are some serious loopholes and deficiencies with the way local building codes are enforced.
