Pipe size for in ground sprinkler system

Hey all,

We have a new patio going in along our garage's side right now, and we'd like a pipe run under it and into the garage (where the water tap is). That way, the garden running along the other side of the pathway can have a sprinkler system put in later, without digging up the walkway (we'd just cap the ends for now). Based on charts about GPM and service line size, it looks like we'd need 1" pipe size.

This is Ontario, so all I've read is that poly tube is better for cold winters. Would squishypipe be ok under a walkway though? Plus it being run through a hole in the garage concrete wall?

Any other tips about running it through the wall? We figured going up on an angle to have it right at ground level in the garage but under the walkway outside... is that a bad idea?

Our contractor does only patios, he's not familiar with sprinkler systems and we've dropped all the money we can for the next few years, hence the "finish it later" part, and also hence the not calling a sprinkler professional...

thanks!

Why not just call up a sprinkler contractor in your area and ask him about what would normally be used. He will know a lot better what's the norm in your area than any of us who don't live there will.

One inch is more than enough, 3/4" is what the zones will use.

Be sure to sleeve it then if you feel changes are necessary it will be much simpler to do than if not sleeved.
