Ok. Hopefully someone can help me solve this hopefully minor calculation. 7 years ago we put 1 inch brick pavers over our pool decking. We now are getting ready to extend the decking and add a pergola and we want the pavers from the extension to seamless flow into the pavers over the pool deck (we are replacing the pool deck with new pavers so they all will be the same). My question is this....Is it correct to dig 5 inches down where the new Pergola decking will be and fill it with 5 inches of crushed stone so that the compact stone is equal to the pool decking and then spread 1 or 2 inches of mason sand over the pool deck and gravel stone so that it is seamless? Would that work or am I missing something. Thanks in advance!
It probably would be easier to just do a Stamped Concrete, or use the Rubberized coating like they do at playground areas. It would not only be cooler in the Sunlight, but water would not allow slippage, because the Rubber coating would stop that from happening.
