Need sump pump for french drain

I have a soggy lawn problem that I'm trying to solve. I dug a ditch for a french drain and used a post hole digger to dig a pit for the water to drain into. The ditch is helping but the pit doesn't drain quickly. I was thinking of putting a small submersible pump into the pit to move the water off of my lawn area. The pump doesn't have to move a lot of water but it needs to be fairly small, and I'd prefer to use a low voltage pump if possible. I would have to run a fairly long power cable (about 100 ft.) from my house to the pump. I would like to know if anyone might have suggestions for specific pumps to use.

Try the Harbor Freight website. They carry several submersible pumps at reasonable prices, most with a off/on switch that floats. However they are all 110. I had a setup similar to yours at my old house and had good luck with their smaller pump. However, did not have a 100 ft power run.

You are going to need a fairly large wire to run low voltage 100 ft. The voltage drop on a 12V system is much worse than on 120V.

120V is most likely the less expensive way to do it.

Keep digging more ditch.

12-18" below grade should be plenty then lay in some perforated drain pipe.
The one I did ends at a storm water culvert.
