Mulcher Blades

Assuming the size and fit is correct, can a "mulching blade" be out on any mower?

Re: Mulcher Blades

Yes, if it fits. And if it has enough horses, probably, maybe, sort of, it may kind of mulch. May work a little better if a deck mulching plug is available for it or you can rig a way to close the discharge chute opening.

If you don't have the mulching plug the blade won't matter.
If you do have one... the blade only matters a little.

Re: Mulcher Blades

The best I have found is Gator Blades for my Kubota ZD21. Even without the chute blocked it seems the design of the blade keeps the clippings in the chamber longer and they are finer when they do finally emerge out the chute.
joecaption and Mike Milam like this.

Re: Mulcher Blades

That's all I use is G6 Gator blades.
There thicker, wider and far harder.
If you go on the Oregon website and have the OEM # or even better yet the length (the length is not the overall lenght it's measured on the diagenel) and the arbor size and style)
Once you have that part number you may be able to find them cheaper on Ebay.
I buy all mine there because I get free shipping and order at least 10 at a time.
