mulch that won't wash away after rain

Hello all,

I have an asphalt driveway with a raised area from a tree root. As a result, water no longer flows down the driveway to the street so I installed a channel drain between the fence and the driveway, just before the raised asphalt. The drain works well until the wood mulch that I use along the fence floats away and clogs up the drain. I have to go out in the rain and constantly clear the mulch from the drain or the driveway floods. I initially thought of replacing the mulch with lava rocks but just read that these things float as well, so it doesn't sound like this is the solution.

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks

We see mulch made from old tires now, it doesn't float but water will still wash it away.
What about gravel.

Everything will float away. You need another solution, a barrier of some type.

Ayuh,..... Washed 1" or 2" stone,.....

'round here the choices are gray crushed limestone, pink granite, or white marble, all available in bulk, from local quarries,.....
Local as in 40 miles,....

I thought about gravel but maybe a larger version so it's not too messy. Thanks for the reply.

After reading Neils post this is what I was thinking about. I'll have to check what colors are available but this is probably the solution I was looking for. Thanks
