Moss On Asphalt

I’m looking to seal my driveway and I have a area with a bunch of moss that is real stubborn about coming off. What is proven to spray and kill moss? Thanks in advance

Re: Moss On Asphalt

Pressure washing usually removes it, when it doesn't, scrubbing with detergent and old broom then pressure washing again should take care of it. It should come off without a pressure washer but you'll need extra elbow grease.

Re: Moss On Asphalt

It doesn’t come off very well with a pressure washer. I was hoping to spray it with something to kill it and then figured it would come off easier.

Re: Moss On Asphalt

I've had success with powder like Moss-Out. But it needs to get rained on and then it still takes a couple of weeks before the moss dies and dries out. You're still going to have to mechanically scrub it, do you have exposed aggregate sidewalk?

Re: Moss On Asphalt

any of the Liquid Copper Fungicides will work fine.
also works well on moss, algae and lichens in the trees and shrubs.
follow the directions on the label.

Just hope no pets or other critters can get to it and drink it. A terrible death for them if they do.

With all due respect Bondo, I really do not care to make this a pissin' contest. So this will be my last reply to this topic...

Notice that copper fungicides can be used on plants and vegetables. The manufacturer apparently is assuming all humans consuming their garden raised fruits and vegetables treated with their fungicide, will be WASHED before eating them OR maybe their product will not be so poisonous that was sprayed early on by their fungicide ? I don't know which one it may be. But they do have a warning labels on copper fungicides bottles for its dangers to humans, animals and environment. ....

All pesticides and insecticides have warning labels to their use and their dangers to humans and pets if warranted. And also on their warning labels and even household bleach there is the text stating " By federal law, this product is to be used ONLY for its intended purpose "

So I am not going to post in detail WHY your above suggestion about using anti-freeze on a driveway's moss is not good for any animals about. Because I know you are a smart guy and you know why also.

And there are too many sicko's reading the internet now, trying to find out ways to harm people and animals while not being too bold in doing so... without me adding to their data base. Nuff' said for me.
