Irrigation Flex Piping slow leaks

The above is the type of piping I'm referring to. An issue I have had for a while now is that I get a small amount of leakage from where the barb goes in around the hole.

I realized this after using the hole punch way too long when it got dull. Instead of making a clean cut hole, the hole ended up being slightly jagged. I should have thrown it away and purchased a new sharper punch tool in hindsight.

Rather than replacing all of the flex piping, I'm wondering if there is a way to fix the slow leaks using some type of adhesive on the hole and barb. I have been removing many of the barbs and putting plugs in as I took out many plants so plugging up the hole is not an issue since no water coming out is needed.

Does anyone know of a way other than a coupler or new water line that will stop the leaks?

Plug the ones that are leaking and replace with a new barb, that is after you buy a new hole punch.

I see that there is a small indent in your tubing. A trick is...after you have inserted your drip fitting....pull it out gently to form a tighter seal. The indent will have gone away.

Goof plugs have two barbs....use the bigger one.

If all else fails.....plant mint underneath.

Thanks! You know I had no idea the goof plug big end was for plugging. I just thought it was to hold on to. I'll have to try the pull back trick also, similar to when hooking up water lines to quick fittings in reverse osmosis I suppose, have to pull back a little after.
