Help! Purple Plum Attacked!

Every year, a colony of Japanese Beetles does its best to destroy my Purple Plum and Weeping Cherry, which are two of my favorite trees. Normally, I'm good at keeping them at bay with liquid Sevin. Unfortunately, I got a little busy this year and the beetles got the best of me.

So here's my question, and yes I know this is borderline OCD behavior. If I pluck off the damaged leaves, will they grow back? I tried this with a Rhododendron one year and it worked great. Not sure if these will do the same. At this point, about 20% of the leaves are damaged.

Thanks!

No need to pluck them off, the new growth(if it comes out) will shed them.

Go buy yourself some Japanese Beettle traps and place them away from the trees.
They work great.
