No gap which is part of my seepage problem. The floor was also not leveled back to the original slab. They did trench around entire perimeter except the wall which we are talking about and that I photographed. My guess is they didnt think it was necessary since the driveway is there. They would be sadly mistaken. The system is quite old; clay pipe which has been used since perforated PVC came out.

So from the sump you can scope the drain at least to the corners to see the condition. if they are clean and working you may have to break in to it so you can scope the section in question.
