I just recently moved into a new home and noticed a lot of pooling at the back end of the yard. The yard is pitched so the water drains down however the water doesn't Drain well. What I noticed was it would stop draining because of the raised flower bed. Water would collect around there so I took it part today and now I just have a massive amount of dirt. Can I just put some seeds in there to grow grass. What is the easiest way to start growing grass. I have tried to level the dirt out as much as possible. It is about a 10x5 area. Any help would be great!
You level the soil and plant seed. You had it correct.
Though this is not a good time to plant seed due to the heat. You will need to water it a few times a day. If the soil dries out after the seedlings sprout, they will die.
Sod will get you immediate results, but still needs to be watered so roots grow.
