Featured paver wall

Hi guys,

I'm currently working on a paver feature wall for my landscaping and I was wondering if -once it's done- you drop the soil directly against the foundation wall (see photo attached). For me it doesn't make any sens to let the soil directly in contact with the foundation wall. Should I install a geotextile fabric? I've heard people installing a foam against the foundation and then the soil.
Not sure what's best. What do you think I should do?

Looking forward to read your answers.

Cheers.

Martin

Re: Featured paver wall

Yes, you normally put fabric against it so soil does not wash through the wall.

Re: Featured paver wall

Are you talking about the new wall or the foundation of the house.

Re: Featured paver wall

Fabric liner, then a weeping tile drain to drain water, then gravel to cover the tile, then a fabric layer covering the gravel, then soil for plantings.

Have the drain tile ( tube), drain away from the area.

This all prevents water from pushing your wall over.
