Erosion from rain on long driveway

I have a 80 yard long driveway that is all downhill. On each side of the driveway there is stacked rocks. Next to those stacked rocks, the rain is eroding the ground. Any suggestions on what I can do to stop the erosion? I was thinking grass seed and hay for starters. Any other suggestions? I am attaching older pictures from before the erosion.

Hard to tell if there's a swale ( a lower area to form a ditch) between the stones and the grass.
If there is try placing some stones that form sort of a mini dam several places along the ditch.
It will slow down the flow of water enough to stop the washing out.

Shrub or tree roots are far better for control of soil erosion than grass. We can see from the pictures grass was present but has failed according to your writing.

Pic No. 2 shows what appears to be Eastern Red Cedar trees doing very well. I would plant cedars and develop them into a 3-4 ft. hedge along the eroded area leaving the rocks. It could, in my estimation, enhance the appearance.

Although there are many on line suggestions for rip rap etc. if we google ditch erosion if you care to go that direction.

Most of the rain appears to be coming from my backyard, over the top part of my driveway, and down one side. I was thinking about putting a 4" pipe in the ground to funnel the rain down.

"I was thinking about putting a 4" pipe in the ground to funnel the rain down."

That's exactly what I did to fix a similar problem. Worked great.
