Downspout drainage issue

Good morning. I have a drainage issue in my back yard causing some serious erosion problems. It is caused by the gutter downspouts at the corner of the house - one spout on the back and one on the side of the house. However they are side-by-side (attached) - 9" apart (outside dimensions). I thought about just attaching the downspouts to some 4" corrugated and run them out to a popup. However that corner of the house has some trees that clog the downspouts and sometimes the water runs over the edge of the gutter, causing more erosion. So the popup would get clogged. Other options? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Ayuh,.... What I would do, is,.....

Dig a swale/ trench from the spouts, down 'bout a foot, out to where it'll daylight drain,....
'bout 1' wide at the bottom, 'bout 3' wide at the top,....
Lay a 2' wide strip of fabric down the middle, then fill the trench/ swale with 2" washed stone,.....
The 2" stone is big enough to drain quickly, but is still "Walkable",....

Re: Downspout drainage issue

Turn the splash blocks around to begin with.

Next...if you have enough water, you are going to have erosion.

How is grade away from the home?

Sounds like a plan. Just use sewer pipe (grey one) instead to not catch debris.

Gutter guards or periodic cleaning. If you slope the drain properly, any debris will accumulate at the end. Take the pop-up cap off and remove junk. Everything requires maintenance.

On heavy rains, the flow shoots off the cap and clears the pipe naturally.

Re: Downspout drainage issue

I had the splash block correct but with 2 golden retrievers in the backyard, it gets moved quite a bit.

I was worried about the trash in it, but if the pop ups can come off then I think that would be the route to go.

Thanks all for your responses.

Re: Downspout drainage issue

Pop ups would not be good where you have freezing.

Re: Downspout drainage issue

We are in middle Georgia so I don’t think freezing is too much of an issue.
