Concrete around drain?

Good day all,

I have a few drains set around my yard to help get rid of surface water.

Do you think it is best to fill the area around the drain with cement of just fill it with clay-heavy soil (so that the water doesn't absorb that much in the soil before going into the drain)?

Thanks

Dirt.

The drain is to take away excess water.

Thanks bud. I'm guessing the clay-heavy stuff that was there before is good enough?

Also, do you think i should use some cement in the hole first just to keep everything tight in place before filling the rest with the soil?

No cement. Dirt will do just fine.
