Can I mount shade sails in between fence posts?

I'm looking to mount some triangular shade sails in the backyard over the pool.

Was wondering are the 2x4 in the middle strong enough or should I mount the anchors right onto the posts?

From what I have seen NO.

I do not know about the wind there, but if it gets like here at times, you need to mount sails on their own post, the bigger the better.

and sometimes a guy wire too.

Beside the winds issue which we don't usually have very high ones here, any other issues?

Here's a photo of the fence. I plan on doing 2 anchor points to the fence and 1 to the side of the house.

Think about rain load in a storm, I realize that snow load ain't gonna happen in sunny California.

Try to anchor in the posts with a eyebolt, and some carabiners , so you can quickly remove it if needed for storms or to let the rain run off.

thanks guys, I don't plan on leaving it there year old. It'll be taken down during the full and backup during the spring time.

I did similar to denagorg suggested, used some eye bolts and rope cleats. Hung one up already and seems to hold fine.
