Best approach to removing multiple trunk system?

I've gotten these 3 plants/trees down to these multiple trunk/stump nightmares and have showered them with herbicide. I'd appreciate any advice on the best approach to removing them from here.

Thanks!

Start digging and cutting roots from the stumps as you uncover them.

Someone with a back hoe, mini escavator could have all that out as well as the roots in about 1/2 hour.
