Shower tile queston

I have an accent tile area in my shower with a decorative travertine trim surrounding it. The trim sticks out about a half inch from the surrounding tile and I noticed after taking a shower there are some areas on the top of the trim that have some standing water. Any issues with that?

There will be at some time.
Never should have used tile that much thicker.

I have kerdi underneath. The water is still sitting there the whole day though.

What do you suggest? The trim is like a chair rail design. Should I of slopped the top?

my understanding is that you could fill the shower to the top, and it wouldn't matter. that is, if it was done correctly.

If you've got a water tight Kerdi shower I doubt it will cause problems. If you can find trim that's the same height but not as thick you could always pop that trim out and replace it. Just spitballin' here.
