Shower pipe waterproofing

I am remodeling our bath and am in the process of waterproofing.

I am installing a shower panel that is pre plumbed meaning all I have coming out of the wall is hot and cold pex pipe. these simply thread onto the supply lines in the panel.

Question is: what is my best option to water proof these as they are not exactly firmly in place.

I am aware of the Kerdi pipe seal, but I have used a roll on membrane and will be using a modified thinset for tile and my understanding is that kerdi requires unmodified..

I guess I could use a mesh and more roll on product? but my concern is that when I go to screw on the supply lines it will move and not be a good seal? if I come back with some silicon once hooked up, would that be sufficient? it should not see much water being located behind the panel anyway?
