Shower/Bathroom Tile

We are redoing our bathroom, and we are trying to figure out which tile for the shower stall. No tub, just a stall.

I really like the look and feel of travertine. But I hear it can be a lot to maintain. Is this true? We were thinking of utilizing the schulter shower system, including the engineered pan. At the very least, using the kerdi on the walls over the cement board.

When I re-tiled our shower the only travertine I really liked was the unfilled and I wasn't about to put that is my shower.
I went with a porcelain. Minimum maintenance, least porous, and nowadays it's available in colors and designs that look like many natural stones.
