Retile tub

Hi
I am looking at retailing my tub surround. Right now it's just 3/8 plaster and 3/8 of Sheetrock under the tile. What is the best option when I need the 3/4 wall thickness?

1/4 inch furring strips and 1/2" durrock---Plaster lath(wood) is available in bundles--1/4" x 1 1/2 inch---nail or staple it onto the face of the studs---
