Replacing old furring strips on solid brick.

Hello everyone,

I have an old solid brick home that I just inherited that was neglected. We are living there. I started looking at a window sill and discovered there were termites, yikes! I pulled off the old wood paneling to find they came up through the bottom somewhere aND furri g strips. I'm pretty sure I caught them before reaching the roof. My question concerns the furring strips. My dad had started replacing them with PT wood. Should I do this in PT...I have the pest control coming put next week and hope none made it to the roof.

If termites got to the roof, you would have serious problems. By that time the rest of the house would be toast.
No reason to have PT wood in the house, other then the sill plate. Treat the house and get rid of the termites. Find out where they came in. Usually at doors where exterior staircases cover the rim joist. Look for mud tunnels in uncovered areas. Check out crawlspaces if you have any.
I've had customers who have had very good success with the bait stations placed outside.

Lol...yeah, the local termite guy told me it's rare to find the sub t. in the roof. I have no crawl space. This is a slab with solid brick walls....I'm thinking the slab was poured separate from the footer and block and they crawled up between. The termite guy said they could maybe drill holes all around the perimeter and fill. They are coming out to look at it soon. I guess I will pull paneling and replace strips with cedar or something? PT wood bad to use just for furring strips?
