Repairing Enamel on Old Tub Without Complete Re-enamel Job

We have an old tub where the enamel has worn off or grown very thin in several places. Is there a product that can be applied just to the areas needing repair as opposed to completely re-enameling the tub?

And have it last? No.
Time to have a pro refinish it or replace it.
Far cheaper to get it refinished.
No way would I be using and of the DIY kits unless you plan on moving out real soon.

Agree with joecaption. I used a DIY kit from Lowes and it lasted less than a year. Trying posting a gig on Craigslist. Make sure you ask what their process is to see if they know what they're talking about. For someone with the right tools and knowledge it's an easy job. I'm guessing you can get it done for 200-300 bucks (much cheaper than a new tub).
