Removing Shower Sliding Door Frame

Hi all,
I'm having the most difficulties removing a sliding door frame from the tile wall. I've scored the sides but can't easily remove the frame from the wall. The adhesive or silicon is like cement or something. I have several multi-tools with a scraper and a wood cutter. I'm also using GOO OFF adhesive remover. I maybe get like an inch done in like 20 minutes. It's just too slow and i'm concerned of breaking the tiles if I use to much force prying it out. There's already some cracks.

Any advice?

Thanks

Silly question, did you remove the screws holding the frame in place?

Get a thin section of wire and loop it around something hard on both sides. You can drag it behind the frame and cut the sealant/glue loose.

Re: Removing Shower Sliding Door Frame

Make that wire ridged, like an old guitar string.

Remember to tie it to strong handles, 1 inch dowels about 6 inches long work great.

The handles are for you to keep your fingers.

These garrotes are deadly.

Re: Removing Shower Sliding Door Frame

I tried the wires. It didn't work either. Wires kept on breaking.

I just said screw it and broke what ever tiles I had to break to remove them.

Luckily the tiles were small 4x4 tiles so I don't have too much to replace.

Thanks
