Removing Shower Pan

I’m wondering if I could get some input on this. I am removing this pan but what appears to be the rubber flange that I need to drill through in order to remove the pan looks like it’s metal.

I attached a couple pics. The first is when it was originally caulked and then after removing the caulk. The last is it zoomed in.

I’m afraid to drill through this just in case this is the incorrect way of removing this pan but I can’t see any other way. Bathroom is down to the studs now. Thanks!

Re: Removing Shower Pan

This appears to be a TOILET flange not a shower flange. Are you aware of that? Why are you needing to remove it?
