My Stupid Doors. They overlap. What should I do?

My bedroom door overlaps the master bath doorway when it's open.

Options like having the bedroom door open into the hall or switching the hinges to the other side of the doorway feel wrong.

I've also considered getting a bi-fold door for the bedroom which folds in half so it doesn't obstruct the bathroom doorway. But that just seems weird too.

I'm wondering if anyone else has better ideas!

Major work but a pocket door could work.

How wide is the bathroom door slab, change it out for a smaller one, if you can't just move it over.

It's already pretty narrow - 28" maybe? - and not much room to move it because the bathtub is in the way.

Only thing I would consider is a sliding barn style door for the bedroom

Swing the bedroom door the other way.

Another option is a double door.

The door should be 24" wide. There is no inconvenience with a smaller door.

Moving the bedroom door 8 to 12" to the left would allow it to swing beyond 90 degrees and beyond the point where it interferes with the bathroom door when fully opened.

Sorry best I can draw.

How about a beaded curtain?

Seriously, though, the barn door idea was suggested for the bedroom, but you could do it on the exterior of the bathroom too.

Also depends on your sense of privacy. No other doors will give you as much sound insulation, example. I don't see what feels wrong with flipping the swing. If there's room, bath doors can swing in too.

Why not just keep the bedroom door closed.?

Bi-fold door for the bathroom instead?

We have two bedrooms in our house that have raised paneled double
entry doors... the opening is four feet so each door is two feet wide...

They sell them in 18” widths as well that will fit your 36” opening.

BTW...it looks very nice too. You could do this without any pain!
