How to Match Base Moulding

Hello,

We are remodeling my daughters new to her house. The house is only 10 yrs old but I cannot find anywhere that has similar base moulding. Re-using existing moulding but had a few break that I need to replace. Any idea how to find a mfg/etc on the attached? Home Depots base mould is not close enough to use. Thought about pulling mould from closets etc to use in the areas needed, then putting Home Depot base in back in the closets but dont want a bunch of splices. Would like to find the same trim.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Most builders don't buy their woodwork at a big box store. Check the different lumber and trim suppliers that cater to builders.

Every manufacture will have a slightly different profile, if you can only get close, change a whole bedroom so you can make your repairs and no one will know.

Re: How to Match Base Moulding

Unless you find the exact match, splicing two different mfg's profiles together is never going to be clean.

Doing the whole room would be the cleanest. Or at least the continuous sections before they're broken up by door jams, closets, etc.

Inside/outside corner "plinth" blocks can help you transition between profiles, if you must.

I would just replace the entire length along the wall where you have breaks. If you are close enough in profile, even if they don't quite match at the corners, it will be hard to tell.

In your dreams Height of overall base, profile differences will poke out like a sore thumb. Do the entire room. Too easy and too clean.
