Sliding glass storm over thermo pane sliding doors

Is it not a good idea to have a sliding glass storm door installed over thermo pane sliding door that faces west with very little shade, thermo doors are white vinyl.

I never heard of a car interior getting to 180 deg F, but I have personally measured the interior of my 1998 Chevy Pickup when it was 98-100 deg F outside. It had been closed up all day. I measured the temp with a temperature gun we used for shooting furnace coil temps. The hottest part of the truck was 141 deg F. The glass on the inside of the drivers side door (nearest where my head/ear would be) was 131.

Not 180, but still very hot.

The metal trash barrel outside my office was 110 deg F. The concrete was 105.

Just sayin'
