Not sure what you call these but they use to use a screw to tighten them up if they got loose. About two years ago we replaced them in a couple of bathrooms and they use this metal piece instead that starts to give way and jostle over time. Do all of the holders use this now or do some still have the kind that you can use an Allen wrench and screw to tighten?

I'm not familiar with the mount in your picture but many manufacturers still use a fixture that is locked to the wall bracket with a set screw. However, your problem might not be the fixture's fault. It looks like the wall bracket is loose. Perhaps a larger anchor or relocating the fixture to a slightly new location will do the trick. I recently had the same problem at my daughter's new place. Their TP holder was loose and my efforts with larger anchor plugs just made it worse. I found a stud about 3" away and now it's not going anywhere.

The bracket is firmly mounted to the wall so that's not it. It's the metal pieces that don't hold it securely. Might just have to shop intentionally for one that uses a set screw.

All the holders in my house use a rigid steel bracket on the wall, and the mating piece has a cone tip set screw at the bottom to lock it in place. Never had one come loose.

Yep this is the type I would prefer. I bought these from Lowe's. Can recall if they are a Moen or something else. Guess I'll be the crazy dude opening the package to see if it uses a set screw or not. LOL Or I'll have to find one I like and look up the tech spec/install instructions before purchase to double check.

I can't say I've seen a bracket like your original photo. I do recall a post quite a while ago regarding a plastic bracket that snapped on (or something like that - it's been a while) and did not hold well. The bracket shown by SPS-1 is the type I am familiar with.
