Framing for a shower stall with glass

Hi,

May have bitten off more than I can chew and would appreciate any help : )

I am looking to install a niche wall on the exterior (insulated) wall.

I am just curious of what else would be needed for framing in order to do so?

I will be having a glass door coming off the interior (non insulated wall). And glass panel on the other side

So if I'm correct. I will need a sill wrapping around the outside that will be 4.5" tall.

Besides that. A little lost what my next steps would be to have it ready for a drywaller to come in and board it up

Thanks for any advice!

Well you can't put the niche in an exterior wall but you could vb that exterior and then build a new interior wall. Alternatively, put the niche on an interior wall opposite your shower.

I think this one looks somewhat like where yours is going (minus glass) see the rest of link as well:

and here is one with the niche on the opposite of supply side:

Make sure you have nailers in place for your glass.

A glass door is not always necessary and saves a load of money if you can just use a panel.

what is the area of your shower pan?
