Do you still caulk wood baseboard (not mdf)


Been putting down MDF but this room i just finished might pine baseboard instead of mdf but do you caulk the seem at the top and if so what color

and do you worry about the seem with the quarter round

kitchen i just finished but the dining room has the same floor/wall color

I only caulk painted trim.

I always caulk painted trim. It gets caulked prior to the final coat of paint.
The only time I'll caulk the top of natural/stained base is if it fits poorly on the wall and the gap is unsightly. Then I'll caulk it and carefully paint it with the wall color.
